Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko will fly to London over the weekend in order to complete his move to Chelsea according to reports.

Bakayoko, 22, has reportedly been on the Champions' radar for some time now and according to reports from the Telegraph and the Mail he is expected in London over the weekend.

A report from L'Equipe says that the fee for Bakayoko will be €40 million and the Telegraph's report mentions that his move to Stamford Bridge could pave the way for Michy Batshuayi to move to Monaco either on loan or permanently.
The Telegraph report also adds that Bakayoko's move could see Nemanja Matic move on, with the midfielder linked to Juventus and Manchester United, but Cesc Fabregas is keen to stay with Chelsea and fight for his place.

OUR VIEW

The FA Cup showed the world what a lot of Chelsea fans have known for a while, N'Golo Kante has carried the Blues' midfield this season.

Matic has been wildly inconsistent whilst Fabregas is too much of a liability unless Chelsea are playing against a smaller team who is sitting deep.
Bakayoko has proven this season that he has the ability to do it against the very best in the world and he's ready for a move to a bigger club than Monaco.

He should relieve a lot of the pressure on Kante and give Chelsea the depth required ahead of their return to the Champions League next season.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata will miss tomorrow's game at Crystal Palace due to the hamstring injury he picked up against Manchester City.

The Spaniard limped out of Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to City at Stamford Bridge and subsequently missed the international break with Spain.

The 24-year-old had a scan last week, with Spain's medical staff claiming he had suffered a grade two hamstring injury.
He won't recover in time for tomorrow's match at Selhurst Park but he could return for Chelsea's Champions League match against Roma on Wednesday.

  • Alvaro Morata could miss two months with hamstring injury

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has withdrawn from the Spain squad due to a hamstring strain and could be out for eight weeks.

The 24-year-old was substituted in the first-half of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City with a hamstring problem, and subsequent scans have revealed a grade 2 hamstring strain.
Spain have confirmed the injury after the player was assessed in a Madrid hospital.

A grade 2 hamstring strain can take between four to eight weeks to recover from.
Morata was expected to lead the line for Spain in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Israel, but his withdrawal leaves Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas as the only natural striker in the squad.

Spain manager Julen Lopetgeui may opt instead to use a striker-less formation, as he did to such great effect in the recent 3-0 win over Italy.

Morata has been a revelation at Chelsea, expertly filling the gap left by Diego Costa in the Blues' attacking and finding the net six times in the Premier League. He is expected to be fit to play for Chelsea against Crystal Palace on October 14.
