Olympique Lyonnais have signed Bertrand Traore from Premier League champions Chelsea, the Ligue 1 club reveal.

The 21-year-old, who made 12 appearances for Chelsea in the 2015-16 season, was loaned out to Ajax Amsterdam last season, where he scored 13 goals to help them reach the Europa League final and finish second in the Dutch league.

The fee is thought to be in the region of €10 million.
"He has a great versatility for us, he is able to play on one side or in the middle, can take up spaces and bring something to the game that is different from what we are used to doing," Lyon manager Bruno Génésio said of the signing.

"He was one of the players we wanted to see at Olympique Lyonnais."
The Burkina Faso international signed a new three-year contract at Chelsea in 2016.

Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand has pledged to offer his services to the Grenfell Tower relief effort by helping to find new homes for survivors.

Bertrand, 27, who featured for England in this week's friendly defeat to France in Paris, revealed on Twitter that he wants to help out those affected by the fire disaster by doing more than just donating.
Fifty-eight people are missing and presumed dead and Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy, the officer in charge of the investigation, has warned the death toll could rise further.

"I went to Grenfell Tower (on Friday). I want to help, not just donate. I can't think of all the answers but I can do what I feel is needed," said Bertrand.
Olympique Lyonnais are expecting competition from various clubs as they hold "advanced talks" to sign midfielder Bertrand Traore from Premier League champions Chelsea, the Ligue 1 team's president Jean-Michel Aulas said.

The 21-year-old, who made 12 appearances for Chelsea in the 2015-16 season, was loaned out to Ajax Amsterdam last season, where he scored 13 goals to help them reach the Europa League final and finish second in the Dutch league.
"We want to bring Bertrand Traore to the club," Aulas told reporters at a press conference to unveil the club's newly signed defender Fernando Marcal.

"There are advanced talks there, but many clubs are interested.

"We absolutely want to do the deal."

The Burkinabe forward could be heading to the Ligue 1 outfit should he agree personal terms

France Ligue 1 side Lyon are reported to be leading the race to sign Chelsea’s Burkina Faso attacker Bertrand Traore.

The attacker is currently in the dark about his future having returned to the Premier League champions after an impressive loan spell at Ajax.

Despite already signaling that he would like to return to The Blues and fight for a first team place, he is reportedly not in the plans of coach Antonio Conte.
French newspaper L'Equipe are claiming that Les Gones are confident of securing a deal with the 21-year-old and are hopeful of agreeing personal terms with Traore by the end of the week.

Lyon are also said to be at an advanced stage over the player's bonus structure.

Traore, who is valued at around £17million, featured 39 times for Ajax and scored 13 goals.

He was on the scoresheet for The Stallions on Sunday in their 3-1 win over Angola in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers opener.
